The cost of electronically converting your paper archives depends largely on the size of archive, the functionality of indexing, general services required, plus any time restraints that you place on us to undertake the work. For example, where it is possible to complete a job in five weeks, we may take eight weeks and charge less because of the time factor. It is obviously still in our best interests to get your work back to you as soon as possible, without ever compromising on the quality of the finished CD-ROM.
It is therefore not possible to be specific with price without first seeing your archives or the system you require. However, the average cost is around ten pence per page within a file.
sds Education is a company that believes in limited bureaucracy. Therefore, not only do we not charge for the viewing software, but we also have no minimum order value. Thus an academic institution can get relevant sizes of archives converted at times (budgetary or usability) convenient to themselves, or perhaps even whole sections or academic years, electronically converted at a time. Other possibilities are that you allocate a set budget every year (for example, £400 or £1,400) to convert archives. Because all of our scanning costs are based upon a per page price basis, this can be easily achieved.
You do not need to spend thousands of pounds with us in order to use our services. We are also very flexible in the amount of times you use us as well. We are happy for you to archive with us on a monthly, quarterly, annual, ad-hoc or even a one-off occasion – whatever your requirement!
