The software core for Exhibition Showguides is the highly flexible and powerful SDS Showcase information management database system.
Show Guides are built around at least one exhibition "floor". A floor being a scale representation of the actual exhibition floor.
Each floor contains at least one "stand". There is no theoretical limit on the number of stands that can be incorporated, but between 50 and 200 is typical.
Exhibition floors can be zoomed, panned and scrolled for the convenience of the user.
Stands are displayed to scale on the floor and may be colour coded according to the exhibition organiser's requirements.
Each stand is associated with one or more "exhibitors". Typically an exhibitor would be a company or organisation exhibiting one or more products or services, but might alternatively be a catering outlet, a first aid post, information point, etc.
The user accesses information about a stand in a number of ways: rolling over the stand displays the name of the exhibitor(s), clicking the stand displays the exhibitor(s) details.
Exhibitor details are customisable according to the client's requirements, but would typically include contact details (one or more of address, telephone, fax, email address, GPS coordinates), web site URL, product or service information, company logo, etc. According to the capacity of the delivery medium, exhibitor details can also include exhibitor presentations in the same variety of formats applicable to sponsor presentations (see below).
Product details are similarly customisable according to the client's requirements, but would typically include, title, product logo, pricing, availability, etc. According to the capacity of the delivery medium, product details can also include product presentations in the same variety of formats applicable to sponsor presentations (see below).
Exhibition sponsors are incorporated in a manner similar to exhibitors but invariably include one or more custom presentations in one of a number of common formats, e.g. Shockwave, Flash, Quicktime, PowerPoint, Windows Media, Adobe PDF.
Exhibition seminar programmes can included as a separate, yet integrated, module that includes seminar timetables, speaker profiles and seminar abstracts.
Seminar presentations can be included in a number of common formats, e.g. Shockwave, Flash, Quicktime, WMV, PDF, Word, RTF.
