Roll of Honour & Military
The SDS Group offers a specialised document management archiving and database solution for educational establishments and legions who wish to build a lasting digital dedication to alumni who fought and participated in World War One.
We currently offer two "packages" for our World War online archives, both of which are completely customised for each client. They both include design and build of a fully functional web portal, and up to 1,000 items of content (one item is a photograph, article, page of content or document) scanned, processed and uploaded into the system).
Additional items can be added to the archive charged at £1.00 each, with no minimum or maximum order – you add to the archive as budget allows. Typically, items that are included in our war memorial archives include:
- School Registers
- Family, Military and Community Records
- Rolls of Honour
- War Memorials
- OTC/CCF Records
- News Cuttings
- Magic Lantern Slides
If you require more interaction with the end-user, our second package, which includes all of the functionality above, is probably more apt. It features a blog area, archivist, staff, pupil and user comments, featured articles (such as survivor stories, on this day in history, personal memories), events calendar and maps. Plus, it can be integrated with a school's internal WWI database.
For example, one of our existing clients, Malvern College has a detailed spreadsheet containing all the relevant details (listed below) of the individual losses, which is seamlessly integrated into the memorial archive.
